Something Evil Lurks (13 Days of Horror #1)

The monsters have taken control of Project Photo Doodle for a creepy-doodle countdown to Halloween. With terrifying pleasure they present to you; '13 Days of Horror'...

The first doodle from the crypt is from the grim land of Halifax, England and was taken by Joe Stenson. Joe also provided the photo for the '13 Days of Horror' header (which was taken in High Royds, Menston)!

I think this is an atmospheric and truly brilliant photo. Thanks to Joe for letting me doodle on his eerie photos.

You can say hello to Joe on twitter >>>here<< and see his website >>>here<<<
And you can see loads of his work on Flickr

I want to know your favourite Horror Film, leave me a comment to let me know

  7. Favourite horror film has to be Blair Witch Project. I live not far from a wood and it served as my playground throughout my childhood. Therefore I can really relate and engage with the spooky shenanigans in the film.

  8. Cool!

I think the 'best' is The Shining, but the 'scariest' is Ringu!

Also love The Exorcist, Evil Dead, Suspiria, Rec, Switchblade Romance, Dawn of the Dead (both), 28 Days Later (think it counts) and many more!

My favourite comedy horrors are; Return of the Living Dead, Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland

  9. Original Dawn of the Dead followed closely by Rosemary's Baby. Both completely different types of scary. I don't think Dawn is actually scary, just a great old movie!

  10. Also a big fan of The Shining. Love the exorcist and the wicker man too.

Great drawings Phil, especially the one where the monster is trying to grab me!

  12. Ringu, for sure. Couldn't even watch the whole thing alone - rare, for me.

  13. Favourite horror film, and the greatest film of all time EVER: Alien. Ridley Scott managed to not only terrify the bejesus out of me when I saw it for the first time aged 13, but he also set me a standard by which I judge every other film. Pacing, atmosphere, set design, sound - all perfect. I love The Shining too, and like The Thing for body shock horror. Another favourite of mine is The Prince Of Darkness, just for wierd horror where really, nothing much happens. Poltergeist still freaks me out a bit too. But, Alien shaped my opinion not only of horror, but of film in general.

  17. Favourite horror film? That's a tough one! I would have to say it's a tie between The Omen, The Fog (original version)and Halloween (original version)
